Out of the Blue

Not an overwhelming number of links of the day today, but the forklift safety video is priceless. It's well worth any patience required for the inability to understand the language of the narration (I'm not sure if understanding makes it more or less funny) or its length... and of course it provides helpful safety tips should you have a forklift of your own (something I've always wanted myself).

That video was absolutely hilarious, the part where the guy looks down at his shirt and there's that little bit of food and all of a sudden the fork comes through his chest reminds me of the first alien movie when the alien bursts out of the guys chest when he's eating. Anyone else get that?

It's been awhile, but I remember while working in the nuclear industry that there was an alarm for a major radiation emergency where the response was - I don't remember the exact wording but it gave the impression of - "Run, just run. Don't panic... or do panic, it really doesn't matter 'cause your ass is grass."

I live in rather close proximity to a Nuke plant. They test the 'bend over and kiss your ass goodbye sirens' monthly. Whee!

The third was "Toxic Cloud / Hazardous Chemical Release" - This is the one that worried me a bit. Basically, you were supposed to determine which way the wind was blowing, and go the other way.

That video was f$%*ed! Reminds me of when I worked at a chemical plant a few years ago. We had 3 alarms:

The first was Fire - that was fine, most place I work have a fire alarm.

The second was Tornado - Depending on where you're at, this may or may not be a big deal. In Oklahoma, it's a given.

The third was "Toxic Cloud / Hazardous Chemical Release" - This is the one that worried me a bit. Basically, you were supposed to determine which way the wind was blowing, and go the other way. Thankfully I never had to experience that one first-hand.

That was pretty damn funny. I love the various jazzy background music throughout the film.
The utility knife in the guy's head was super funny.
