Lionheart Gold

Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader Goes Gold (thanks Frans) is the press release announcing that Reflexive Entertainment's SPECIAL-system alternate-history RPG is complete, and is due in stores in August. Here's a bit:
Vivendi Universal Games and Interplay Entertainment Corp (OTC Bulletin Board :IPLY - News) announced today Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader has gone gold. This original PC role-playing game from award-winning Black Isle Studios, and developed by Reflexive Entertainment, combines an intriguing story of alternate medieval history and fast paced real-time combat. It also features the SPECIAL system for character advancement previously found in the FalloutŪ series of PC games. Hordes of monsters, hundreds of weapons and items and over 60 spells are found in the game to challenge your combat and spell-casting abilities. Get ready to enter a hauntingly familiar yet fantastically foreign world to our own.

I actually liked the way Fallout Tactics was designed. You could select turn-based or real-time (w/pause) via the game prefs panel. Although, I wasn't too crazy about the game itself. Point is, having both is a nice implementation.

I'd also say that it depends on the _type_ of crpg (e.g. Gothic would suck with turn-based).
