Out of the Blue

I had to replace Hudson the wonder dog's frisbee yesterday, a fairly frequent occurrence, since the little beastie has a tendency to destroy them in fairly short order. This would be an even more common event if we actually used a FrisbeeĀ®-brand frisbee (to simultaneously use the generic and brand-name versions of the term), as her imposing mouthful of teeth immediately creates holes and brail bumps in those. Instead we get the doggie-friendly type, which are flexible nylon dealies, and yesterday was the first time I noticed the brand name on the box. These are called floppy disks, which strikes me as funny, because it doesn't look like too much longer before these will be more common than their computer namesakes (if that's not the case not already), and of course, this is the perfect favorite toy for a geek's dog, especially for one like Hudson, who has such a strong floppy drive.

IMO there are way too many hacks in this game. There's some guilds that are devoted to using the hacks as much as possible. Some of them get caught by the GMs but a lot of them are getting away with it. also the United States of America is too powerful, they think everyone is a grief player. if you are caught equipping Cannabis they will suspend your account!

i think mouse gestures were invented by a giant fat man with huge fat arms that had problems moving the mouse an inch forward to the forward and back buttons
in fear of having a heart attack moving his arm he created mouse gestures with voice recognition software to take down the code

i think mouse gestures are stupid and it is easier to click the button at the top of the screen..

I think the whole mouse gesture thing is kind of dumb as well. I don't know if it is a sign/symptom of my age but I prefer to use keyboard shortcuts over anything else.

Still disappointed in the furious/furiousbrocolli fight to the death...

i think mouse gestures are stupid and it is easier to click the button at the top of the screen.. also my mouse has buttons on either side of it to go back and forward in web pages.. also i like to keep my icq docked to the right side of my screen and I multitask quite often and need to see my taskbar and quick launch shortcuts at all times so full screen browsing is useless on me

try comparing what blues and many other sites look like by using IE and Opera at the same time... I believe opera was the browser that put odd spacing in everything

Actually, in the newest version of opera (7.xx) blues news looks fantastic. Besides, you cant beat mouse gestures and full screen browsing in opera... it is truely the only way to get the most web page on your screen. And tabbed browsing owns.

Edit: the dates on the posts are kinda finked in opera.. ah well, like I care

Even crappy partners have vaginas, computers don't.

Heh! There are about 10,000 things better to fork than a vagina. You just need a certain amount of creativity and a good lubricant. But <shrug> each to their own. My point was that you don't have to put up with other people. If you have to, you have to...

make sure you lock the toolbars to get a bit of extra room too
already got that covered.

Any idea how to remove the "go" button though? as enter works just as good for me, and I'd like more URL space.

Hmm, this and the "Real Life" thread baffles me. I've dumped 2 girlfriends for games - admittedly for Doom and Quake and while the decision was mine I think dumped is too strong a word. I just decided that given the choice I'd rather play the game than continue with a crappy "relationship".

Clearly that makes me a bad person because I'd rather play a computer game/concentrate on my sport/go to Kenya with the mission than try to work on my relationship with the shallow headcase that I attracted in the first place. Bad me.

Now granted if you gave up the love of your life for a computer game then I'd probably not have much sympathy for you. Unless the love of your life was pretty crappy. Suppose that was the best you could get. Crappy partner or computer games. Who wins, You decide....

<edit> Technically the second girlfriend wasn't dumped. She just had to endure a lot of grief prior to the release of Quake. We were scheduled to go to Rhodes the Saturday after it was released in the UK. I suggested to her in bed that I was scared of flying and couldn't deal with the trip. I have honest-to-god scars from that night. I went to Rhodes. Didn't like it, full of Germans. It was months later that she eventually "gave up on me" and walked away. Am I a catch or what? No, but I'm happy. I'm a little concerned about dying alone. But when I do I'll be able to afford the best of painkillers.

make sure you lock the toolbars to get a bit of extra room too

now i just need a working ad blocker and i'd have the whole package... i don't mind closing the ads though

i've been looking ... it's not in the menu.. heh, you'd probably have to hack it out of windows.. the address toolbar on the taskbar has the same label

i hate all those 50 one click buttons.. im now down to mini buttons of back, forward, stop reload, home (www.bluesnews.com ) and print

my next goal is to figure out how to condense my double taskbar... i love those quicklaunch icons too much

if you ever figure out how to remove the "address" lettering, let me know!

I apply to the method of, seeing as much web page, and not have 50 one click buttons that are inreality just two clicks away. But hey, thats just me!
