That amount of bandwidth on the status page is about 25 T3's worth which is obviously a lot. But you divide that by 100,000 people trying to grab HL2 which will be several gigs, all at once, and you have a major crawl. They REALLY need to get on the bandwagon and integrate some kind of p2p system into that so that their upload capacity can be easily quadrupled.

Plenty of other people have. They just do not have the marketing power that GSI has.

Stay tuned for a blast of HL2 full-motion goodness

I just had a feeling like Homer Simpson did in the episode with the social worker.

Gabriel: "I've packed your lunch and put it in that tree. There are roast beef sandwiches, one falafel..."

Lisa: "Thank you"

Gabriel: "And ice cold beer"

Homer: <Grabbing gabriel by collar> "GIVE ME THAT BEER!!!"

<Homer proceeds to ram car into tree in an attempt to knock it over to reach the sweet sweet beer>

-DSR <--replace beer with HL2, and Homer with me

I just installed it and it say's:

Could not connect to the Steam Network.
Either the Steam network is currently not running, or your internet connection is down.

What joke is that? How am I suppose to be able to play this if it won't even log me on?

looks pretty stable to me....

I haven't had any problems with stability it just seems like it takes around five minutes to log into a server because steam has to authenticate up the wazoo.

apparently the new HL2 media is the e3 movie that was released via handcam

edit: "Buy Valve games via the Internet, and start playing within minutes of confirming your purchase"

what are the publishers going to say about this?? hehehe... I love it!!!! the balance of power is shifting towards the developers... I hope Steam kicks some ass!!!

they going to sell HL2 on this baby, ya think?

Thats the plan, but given how sluggish Steam is at the moment I'm not too excited about it.
