Out of the Blue

I got to see Terminator 3... I was worried going to a matinee of this type of flick while school is out might have resulted an overload of noisy kids, but there was not a single youngster in the audience. Of course any consolation taken in this was drowned out by the older couple who sat near me talking through every single moment of the movie from the coming attractions through the closing credits. When I asked them to shush (after the perfunctory half-turn followed by the full turn/eye roll combo) they acted mystified at what I was getting at before getting back to their conversation. Thankfully, this was not a movie with a lot of quiet reflective moments where this became a distraction, and overall I was still able to enjoy the proceedings.

I can top that tron...

When I saw the original Matrix, some moron in the next row (four seats to my left - I will *never* forget that guy), took out his cell phone and called a friend. It was one of those moments where the entire surrounding audience was in collective shock that someone could be that rude.

Second oddest experience: Going to see "The Two Towers" last winter and having to listen to a man softly translate the entire film into Chinese for his wife. My wife and I were the only ones who heard him, but we couldn't believe it.
