Out of the Blue

In a note related to the discussion of drinking water yesterday, I found this sort of interesting. We use one of those large Brita deals that sits on a counter (as opposed to the pitcher kind), and when I changed the filter just the other day, I got this impulse to clean out the inside, which seems sort of redundant since it's just water being run through it. Once I started cleaning the white plastic upper part, I noticed something that was not evident to me at first because I am colorblind... a yellow film coating the entire inside of the water reservoir. This cleaned out pretty easily, but now I'm thinking I should have sent it to a lab. Anyway, regardless of toxicity, I sure am glad we're using the filter if it prevents us from ingesting whatever this stuff is.

That article on caffine explains a few things for me. I have some sort of wierd condition in which if i have anything that contains caffine (including chocolate) I get really sleepy. One time I had a small drink (about half a shot) from an energy drink (rockstar) and I ened up passing out on the floor of my friends appartment for 3 hours. So this explains why I got so tired at dinner 2 nights ago. At least i will never be an insomniac *grins*
