Following up on the story below, GameSpyDaily has a report up quoting Valve's Doug Lombardi that contradicts the notion that their shooter sequel will not be released for Microsoft's console system:

"Half-Life 2 is planned for the PC and Xbox. We've announced the shipping date for the PC version, and we'll announce a shipping date for the Xbox version later in the year."

It seems like they (MS) just gave a poorly worded quote - what I think they meant was, since Valve haven't given them a release date or anything, they don't want to confirm and confirm it for xbox to then have Valve say "we've decided not to release it" and have it be their fault
