It's doubtful that the judge will take off the court appointed lawyer for some guy from Florida (who isn't licensed in Ohio). It would just waste the taxpayer's money they spent on the first one and the would still have to find local counsel to represent "pscyho fun boy" with JT. If he really had the Ohio Public Defender ready to step in with him, then THEY would be making the request. This jackass just wants to get in the newspaper and the local media has to have some new twist for the Tragic Story of the Moment to keep selling papers.

But a lot of it seems to be down to the mind in question.

Younger people are more susceptible to stuff, hence we have ratings for films and we should have tighter ratings on games.

I see a number of folk stating that it isn't games that are to blame, but the media - especially the news media - have a worrying effect on viewers.

Now apart from being confused about how many early teenagers watch the news these days, I don't see why one form of media doesn't affect you but another does.

Personally I think that all media , from books upwards, affect people in profound but subtle ways. It is clearly ludicrous to say that games cause murder/manslaughter. I think it is equally ludicrous and harms the industry to say that games have no effect on people's psychological makeup.

In Germany some fucker went into a local college and shot 18 people, I believe this happened a little over a year ago. Only there the whole argument was about the guy being a member of a gun club (ie, a place where he could practice shooting and such), and the whole riot was about that.

This kind of shit happens everywhere, it's just that (seemingly) only in the US games get blamed for it.

US isn't the only country exposed to violent video games... what about Japan, or Korea... how come they dont have kids shooting up schools or killing each other like they do here in the US...

They play the same games we do... they watch the same movies that we do... they listen to the same music that we do... so why is it that here in America we have so much violent crime being commited by young people...

While we're considering game-ways to take him out I'll lend my personal method.

In the spirit of duke3d, lay a pipe bomb trap outside his front door. When he comes out, blow them and watch how high he goes. During his airtime I would be in a blackhawk from Desert Combat with the minigun lighting him up. There'd be a sea of laser tripmines in his landing zone so when he falls down a chain reaction of trip mines vaporize what is left of him at that point.
