titled "Duke4 Not A 2003 Game" quotes a Take 2 Interactive conference
call where the publisher basically asserts that there's no "possibility
under the sun" that Duke Nukem Forever will be released by this year's
holiday season, and that since they have already accounted for the fee paid to
Infogrames for the project, "right now we're just hopeful that the team
in Dallas will finish it." The story also mentions their hopes of releasing
Max Payne 2 in January of next year.
It's amazing how blind fanboys can be. I haven't kept up with George's hype. But what I've seen indicates to me that he's always trying to put a positive spin on yet another setback or restart. The bottom line is this: This game has been in production since before Quake II. Is there honestly any reason for taking this long? Again, I'm not up on all of George's posts, but I don't ever recall seeing him own up to the obvious fact that DNF has been delayed by direct result of amazing bad judgement. Hell, as bad as Daiktana was, at least it was eventually finished. I think the question "Will DNF EVER be finished?" is a valid question at this point.
