Robocop Demo

Dead or alive, you're coming with me, as the Robocop Website now offers a playable demo of the PC game based on the exploits of the cinematic cyborg cop. The demo is a 24 MB download that's gone unnoticed for the last month until spotted by Gamer's Hell, where they have provided a mirror. The demo offers one level.

I use DXSC (forward, backward, strafe left, strafe right)

This means I get zaqwerfv keys for extra things. Thumb can alternate between alt and space.

*This* is the best config, since you hand comes in naturally from the right and is angled accordingly. With W and S at that angle, my hand would ache. Sometimes I rotate my keyboard counter-clockwise slightly for a bit more comfort.

To this day I've never seen anyone use anything similar.

unless you are left-handed... and the left hand is on the mouse. So not the best setup for 'any' user.

I'm not sure as to why everyone's talking about their control setup, but I use E,D,S,F (fwd, bwd, lft, rgt) with space for jumping and leaving the number row, and surrounding QWRTYZXCVG for my other binding uses...That is all. I think that's probably the best setup for any user bar-none. Invisisun

I dont know abou micrsoft, but I have logitech one and if the game doesnt let you bind the buttons, you can use the logitech software to bind the mouse butons to keys, like f12 or somthing you normally dont reach.

Only problem with Logitech Mouse drivers is that they change my mouse speed for absolutely no reason, so Im constantly having to adjust it in games trying to get to where I like it. Shame too, since they make the best mice, I just use a standard driver with it.

wow people really have totally fucked up controls... but i guess as long as it works for you... i remember using keyboard only with arrow keys in q2 until a clan member gave me a cfg file... rdfg for life since then.. i have no idea how i played before that... i remember in duke3d needing to rely heavily on autoaiming to fight those floating aliens

I use asdf with a usually as a 'use' , s as back, d as left, f as right, mouse 2 as forward, mouse 1 as attack, this frees up all of qwert for weapons, tab, capslock, shift, ctrl alt and space (usually jump). Shift is duck, alt is slow walk usually. Kind of fucked up, but I have used it since q1 and it rocks

yep gotta have that jump button handy for that last second dodging as you unexpectedly have to reload your weapon or encounter an enemy sniper or need to dodge an incoming tank shell to your face

I have the Intellimouse and it is a pain that the games don't usually recognize the 4 and 5 buttons automatically but you can go to the program and select program specific commands under Buttons>Settings and assign keys for just that program. Oh... and you have to have Enable Program-Specific Buttons checked.

I have a razer boomslang 2000. the driver allows aswell to assign normal keys to any button on the mouse. if you put some keys on them, that work for your browser too, like backspace and others, it will be no problem for webnavigation use. but there may be commands that cant be assigned to a single button, tho this mouse driver allows to even make a key follow up..... so if I want to press "f" and right after that I want to press "e" I can assign that to a single mouse button. it even notices that the first key have to be pressed until the next key is executed. (like duckjump in half-life)

i never thought of that, the intellimouse software will do the same but I won't be able to use the buttons for web navigation.

I've got the 5 button microsoft optical mouse... have you noticed very few games allow you to bind the 4th and 5th buttons? It's kind of a waste.. they only get used to go back and forward in IE.

Im using rdfg aswell. before that I was using the arrow keys (doom time) and later I changed to esdf (duke time). but rdfg is making the most keys available for my left hand. Im also using a mouse with 5 buttons

oh and btw, I wont DL that demo just because I read your opinions.

Subpar graphics, sound, gameplay....hell, everything else too. Whoever said it looked like a Playstation 1 port wasn't too far off the mark. I think I'll wait for Dredd Vs Death to engage any sci-fi lawman fixes I may need....
