Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Announced

Sam Fisher Is Back with Exciting New Missions and Online Multiplayer Play Modes (thanks Frans) is the press release announcing the next installment in the Splinter Cell series. Here's the deal:
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 2003-- Ubi Soft, one of the world's leading video game publishers, confirmed today that development has begun on the next Splinter Cell game, subtitled: "Pandora Tomorrow."

This sequel is being developed as a multiplatform title and is slated for release in the first quarter of 2004. The game will bring back more of the single-player intrigue that made the original game a bestseller. With exciting new action scenes and a strong cinematic feel, the player will experience new and even more realistic surroundings. Building on Ubi Soft's strong commitment to online gaming, Pandora Tomorrow will the be the first stealth game ever to feature multiplayer online missions allowing several players to simultaneously share Sam Fisher's shadowy world of espionage.

Sam Fisher is irony packed into skin tight leather. I don't know many middle-aged veterans of countless conflicts who can jump off walls and do the split without worrying about arthritis.

For the next game I just hope they move away from Hollywood-style sound effects and give the silenced pistol a proper *Shpitck* sound when it fires. Just a little pet peeve of mine.

I'd rather play with my own feces than play splinter cell. Multiplayer might be fun though.... but if it is co-op it'd be pretty fucking annoying when your teamate keeps getting you guys caught or kills someone he shouldn't have. No quickloading

You do get maps on some missions. But there are no in-game cues, and I like that. I hate games that basically tell you how to play the game, or games that play the game for you.

For Splinter Cell, you just have to actually pay attention to mission briefings, and actually read clues and notes you pick up in game. If you do that, you should never be lost.

I say this game looks incredably intruiging. I'd love to see how the multiplayer works when its done, especially on LIVE. I can just imagine 3 Sam Fishers jumping a couple gaurds from the shadows. Should be an, innovating, awesome game.

I didn't get lost, I just got tired of wandering around, not knowing where the next objective was...bored the hell out of me.

Oh, and how many people have you called a "n00b" on this board? I've only been gaming for about 25 years now...

What it sounds like is co-op multiplayer. "first stealth game to ever feather multiplayer online missions" Missions, not death match.

IMO Splinter Cell is the best stealth action game. I had tons of fun with it on Xbox (and still do occasionally).

Really can't wait for this.

Sounds YAWN-o-riffic.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

Interesting. Never bought the first one because I needed to conserve funds for future games, but I played the demo. It was pretty nifty.

The MP could be very interesting.
