Ships Ahoy: X2 Wolverine's Revenge

Activision sends word that X2 Wolverine's Revenge has simultaneously shipped for the PC, Xbox, PS2, GameCube, and GBA. Here's most of the press release in which we learn a bit about the game (as well at that neither Magneto, adamantium, nor the phrase "Canadian wilderness" are trademarked):
X2 Wolverine's Revenge takes fans back to the Weapon X facility in 1968 when Wolverine's horrific skeletal adamantium bonding experiment had been performed. Players then fast forward to the present and find Wolverine in fellow X-Men comrade Beast's™ lab undergoing tests, when Beast and Professor X™ tell Wolverine that a viral time bomb has been activated in his body and he has only 48 hours to find an antidote by returning to the one place it all began - the Weapon X facility.

In his quest to save his life, Wolverine has the added challenge of encountering familiar foes such as Lady Deathstrike, Sabretooth™, Wendigo™, Juggernaut™ and Magneto. Armed only with his signature adamantium claws, superior senses, advanced stealth techniques and a variety of martial arts moves, Wolverine also enlists the aid of allies such as Colossus™ and Rogue™ as he travels across the Canadian wilderness and finds himself in and out of danger in various Department H facilities and boss battles. X2 Wolverine's Revenge also features the voices of Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Mark Hamill as Wolverine.

IGN must be wrong in this case..

Wouldn't surprise me at all...they're not the sharpest bunch.

Hmmmm.. IGN must be wrong in this case.. this game was actually developed by GenePool Software who are based in the UK. I was able to play some of the early builds of the game, so I am pretty sure of who made it.

Just trying to clear that one up for everyone.......

Hehe...I went to see X2 last night. It was very good... a very fun movie.

It wasn't bad. Better than the first...

<spoiler> (highlight at your own risk):
They certainly set things up for Dark Phoenix, didn't they?

And am I the only one who thought that CG Hulk looked dumb as hell? It was blatantly obvious in Spider-Man when they switched from an actor to a CG Spider-Man, and it looks even more so in Hulk. When you CG a spaceship, people buy it because they've never seen one. When you CG a person, people notice right away because we see people every day, and can tell the difference.

Hmm, I guess I'm really confused between things then.. I thought Raven had been working on this.

Sorry about that then, Raven

PS : Yeah, I really screwed up on that one, my bad

Well, since it's done by Raven Software, I doubt that that's the case, but it seems rather pathetic that they simply ported and never gave any kind of thought to the control setup...

Are you sure it's done by Raven? They're working on an X-Men RPG, but that's due this winter or next spring.

IGN (They suck, I know) says it's done by "Livesay Technologies" (who I've never heard of).

Let's not soil Raven's good name!

Guessing this might be the first Raven game I'll pass up on.

The next Batman movie should be pretty good, tho. Christopher Nolan is directing and he kicks serious ass. He's the guy behind "Memento". And there's rumors that Guy Pierce might play batman, which is good because he's an excellent actor.

The worse thing they did to the Batman franchise was not invite Tim Burton back. I LOVE his movies, and to me, he really captured the spirit of what I thought Batman was.

Granted "Returns" was little off, but that one with Ah-nold ruined the entire series. And Clooney, isn't a horrible actor, he just plays the same smart-ass, over and over.

I'd say it's far better than the first Batman movie (which wasn't all THAT great imo, but I was never a big Batman fan anyways).

It's definitely the best superhero movie made in the last 5+ years, much better than the first one, much better than Daredevil.

And yes, they CAN trademark names, with the intention of not allowing anyone else to create characters with those names.
If I want to call my kid Wolverine though, there isn't much they can do about it (not that they wouldn't want to...)

The game could've used a few more months in the polishing departement but Mark Hamill does a great job as far as he's concerned.

Is it as good as the first Batman movie? No other superhero movie has breached the standard set by Tim Burton.

Agree... the movie is definitely a must see in the theatre... kicks off the whole summer blockbusters thing just right. Much better than any superhero movie I've seen in a very long time...

They can't really trademark common words by capitalizing them and making them names, can they? Beast, Wolverine, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Colossus, Rogue?

And Mark Hamill as the voice of Wolverine? I guess Krusty the Clown was indisposed.

LOL!! I agree with the C rating, and think they should also have a WSAD rating, too.

WORST CONTROLS EVER!

Worse than that last Indy game?

Think there ought to be a new law: In addition to the regular "rating icon" on the front of the box, there needs to be a "C" icon placed on all pc games that are half-assed console ports.
