Half-Life
2 coming this fall on CNN Money is an article examining the prospects of
Valve's recently revealed shooter sequel. The article, which says the game is
due on shelves September 30, offers a bit of history on the franchise, some
quotes from Valve, and the first non-scanned screenshots of the game. The
article discusses the value mod support has added to the original Half-Life,
something this quote from Valve's Gabe Newell indicates they plan on continuing:
"We've learned a lot from our experiences with the mod community and with Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Half-Life 2 will be a much better platform for mod authors than Half-Life 1."
Where'd they learn that? I'm trying to think of examples, but coming up blank...
The obivous example, it would seem, would be Daikatana.
