First of all, we know that it's the client that has gone gold. That doesn't really matter since even the client still has a significant number of problems. It should not be gold at this point. As for features, yes, there are NPCs. Unfortunately they still don't work right. There are still a lot of problems with them and they won't be fixed in less than 2 weeks. Nor will all the other problems. I'm just waiting for the game to hit so we can watch all the market exploits hit and see how CCP handles it when some people are making millions or billions by exploiting market bugs while others are mining omber for pennies. I'd like to see how long people hang around when their ship gets nerfed after they just spent half a million or more on it (and you know it'll happen since they have barely even begun to balance the ships). The game is going to be a buggy mess for at least a few more months. If you enjoy that sort of thing, then have a blast. I'd rather play a game that works.
What's really funny to me is that you guys act like the devs are so wise and that they are certainly making a good decision here. You act like game publishers don't make moronic game-killing decisions and release games way too early all the time. It happens all the damn time! Why is CCP and EVE such a special case? You think that for some reason they can release a buggy, unfinished game and get away with it? I don't see what makes them such a special case.
