Actually, Synic is right, more often than not games are pushed out early due to pressure from the producer/publisher. It's simple math: The shorter the development time, the more games you can produce in a year. Typically this proves a bad tactic for everyone. The gamers are pissed because they get a buggy, unfinished product. The developers, meanwhile, are pissed because their reputation is marred by a poor release. The only people who win are the ones fronting the cash... and that's probably because they have multiple irons in the fire, each of them possibly a rushed project.
