Galaxies May Open Beta in May

It's been a while... on the Star Wars Galaxies Forums (thanks Dr. Del) has an update from Rich Vogel, executive producer on SOE's upcoming Star Wars MMORPG. He gives a status report on development, and offers news that open beta testing for the game is scheduled to kick off next month. Here's the bit that mentions this, which makes it clear this is subject to change:

Our current plan is to go to Open Beta in early May. This all depends on how polished we are. I realize lots of you want to play but it is important that we make your play experience an enjoyable one.

I hope this happens because I'm not that much of a Star Wars fan myself, so getting to try an open beta will help me decide if the game would still be fun for me regardless of the theme.
