Enter the Matrix Gold

Enter the Matrix Goes Gold is the press release announcing the game tie-in with the sci-fi Matrix trilogy is now complete for all platforms, and is expected to appear at retail on May15, simultaneous with the debut of The Matrix Reloaded. Here's a bit:
"Enter The Matrix" is a revolution in interactive entertainment -- a third-person action game that effectively blurs the line between Hollywood blockbuster films and next-generation video games. The game is directed and features a script written by the Wachowski brothers, writers/directors of "The Matrix" film trilogy, creating the most intensive collaboration between a video-game publisher and a movie studio to date. More information about "Enter the Matrix" is available at www.enterthematrixgame.com; in addition, to learn more about "The Matrix Reloaded" visit www.thematrix.com.

Excellent - looking forward to this, although now picking up the Xbox version rather than the PC thanks to the dumbass's at Infogrames for not putting the game onto DVD *and* for charging more for a PC game than a bloody console game.

Ta for tip, may reconsider then....although the prospect of disc swapping may get the better of me and get the Xbox version anyway hehe

This better not suck!

I went ahead with the pc version, also for $49.99...

Any bets on when the first patch will surface (before or after the 15th)?

well one of the things I'm curious about is whether the six discs are a switching affair or if they're vehicles to your hard drive - which would mean you have to have a butt-ton of space to install it. And remember the three console versions are two discs each, so there's some mild disc switching there as well.

Hmmm - kill my hard drive space or switch a console disc. Decisions!

EB also has all versions for $49.99. And you get an extra dvd with additional content. Ooh. Ahh.

First patch for PC, I reckon within 2 weeks of launch...as for disc swap vs installed I reckon two flavours (i)4.5gb installed or (ii) smaller install with streamed video

I'm sure they'll be a GCW patch that allows you to run EVERYTHING from the hard drive.

They had a similar patch up for GTA3 fairly quick...

This better not suck!

Rumor is that it DOES suck. This is one game I'm definitely going to wait for the reviews on before I touch it.

sure its an in house one. An evolution of the engine used for Sacrifice I think, although that might well be wrong

@10: Where have you heard rumors from? There wasn't even a beta, was there?

EB also has all versions for $49.99. And you get an extra dvd with additional content.

So they put the game on 6 CDs, then give you a bonus DVD? I guess they assume more people have a DVD player for thier television than in thier PCs.

Rumor is that it DOES suck.

Well, it's not hard to see that the graphics suck. That takes us halfway to having a rumor saying the game sucks (which wouldn't surprise me), doesn't it?

It's obvious this game is being rushed out the door to get it in stores in time for the movie. This usually means several things: 1) broken or missing features (2) poor and innaccurate documentation (3) horrible, game-stopping bugs.

I pity those who pre-ordered this.

Most of the time GCW is VERY slow in getting "things". Their updates are every other day and it sucks when a patch comes out the same day as one of their site updates because then you have to wait the 2 days! Oh well, not every site can be updated as much as our bluesnews! :X

Well, at least by having a lot of CDs we can be sure there'll be a lot of unique content. More content generally leads to a richer and more satisfying experience, like with Mafia, for example.
