Enter the Matrix Gold

Enter the Matrix Goes Gold is the press release announcing the game tie-in with the sci-fi Matrix trilogy is now complete for all platforms, and is expected to appear at retail on May15, simultaneous with the debut of The Matrix Reloaded. Here's a bit:
"Enter The Matrix" is a revolution in interactive entertainment -- a third-person action game that effectively blurs the line between Hollywood blockbuster films and next-generation video games. The game is directed and features a script written by the Wachowski brothers, writers/directors of "The Matrix" film trilogy, creating the most intensive collaboration between a video-game publisher and a movie studio to date. More information about "Enter the Matrix" is available at www.enterthematrixgame.com; in addition, to learn more about "The Matrix Reloaded" visit www.thematrix.com.

If you have already seen something, the need to wait is no longer there. The purpose of renting it would be because you want to see it, not that you are waiting to see it. Hmmm... maybe this will help.

Cause-Want to see it.
Effect-Rent it.

See?

if you've already seen the movies in theaters (probably more than once even) why not just skip the rental and wait for it to go up for sale?

rent the movie because the special deal with blockbuster has been reinstated saying that the movie does not come out to buy until it has been in rental for a while.

"Hmmm - kill my hard drive space or switch a console disc. Decisions!"

The decision for me is: to use a mouse or to not use a mouse.

The answer is pretty easy. Especially since that talk that the PC version will be more expensive has been nullified.

actually I just watched the "trailer" for the game on fileplanet.... this looks quite good. not sure how it'll play, but I'll get it just for the movie content... wish they just put out an extra dvd though as this means I'll have to pay to see the movie, buy the game, rent the movie, buy the movie... total cost in GBP £67 to see everything that should have been in the movie anyways... that's $100!!!

Dr. Del, the "warez kiddies" have had it for a month next week. Also the uncensored version was released the other day.

Like I said earlier, this game might turn out to be shitty.

Production value wise this game cannot fail, but Shiny has simply NEVER made a game I like.

Shiny made some (IMHO) really great games. Did you ever play Aladdin, Earthworm Jim or MDK? Great stuff.

"Unfortunately, no one can be told what GCW is..."

Hehehehe, that's a very good one

I've been up and down about this game for awhile now. While on the one hand I love everything Matrix, and will do everything humanly possible to watch the very first showing (hopefully they'll do another midnight thing), the game has me in a "hmmmm" state of mind.

Production value wise this game cannot fail, but Shiny has simply NEVER made a game I like. I'm sure that everyone would love a game where you maul your way through thousands of Matrix stooges and agents with your super733T characters, but I'm worried that Shiny fucked it up somehow and it will be thousands of fights that actually aren't any kind of fun whatsoever.

I think I'll wait a few days and see what people say. Too many turds have come out this year already, after having been hyped up the wazzoo, and my dollar ownage is currently rather low.

So, once you filthy rich scum have a copy, be sure to let us know what you think of it

No one here has touched on what i think is the reason for 10 cd's ... i mean 6. Copyright. If they can require six CD's then it's harder for someone to just copy all .iso's and share them. Well at least until someone makes a warez version combining everything into one file.

They may not be using all the space on all 6 disks, but considered that it was cheaper than really good copyright protection. And the fact they are using 6 disks just shows me that they should have used a better video encrytion method... they can't be using divx or xvid here...

Yeah, I don't see how he can say that it's rushed. We won't be able to tell until the game is released.

It's obvious this game is being rushed out the door to get it in stores in time for the movie.

Dunno. Could also be that the game was well planned to be finished together with the movies. If Raven was the developer I'd have no doubt that it is in good shape - those guys really know how to plan game development. Not sure with Shiny, though, but maybe they can pull it off as well.

This usually means several things: [...](2) poor and innaccurate documentation

Heh. I'm not sure when I last read a game manual. Usually the keyboard options screen is sufficient nowadays.

<nostalgia> I remember those 100+ page manuals you HAD to read in the good old times before you could even start playing a game (Falcon 3.0 anyone?). I guess that's progress for you </nostalgia>

Hasn't VC went gold and been released already? Or maybe we're talking about 2 different VC's.

Well, at least by having a lot of CDs we can be sure there'll be a lot of unique content. More content generally leads to a richer and more satisfying experience, like with Mafia, for example.

Most of the time GCW is VERY slow in getting "things". Their updates are every other day and it sucks when a patch comes out the same day as one of their site updates because then you have to wait the 2 days! Oh well, not every site can be updated as much as our bluesnews! :X
