Devastation Patch

The Devastation Website now offers a new version 380 retail patch for Digitalo's Unreal-engine shooter. Word on the 66 MB update is: "Once this patch is installed, Singleplayer Autosaves from the previous version will be compatible, but In-game saves and quick-saves will not be. It is advised to ensure you have an autosave from the last map you were playing (Autosaves are available upon the completion of every map; simply click "Yes" when prompted to Autosave)." A mirror is available on 3D Gamers, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

cool.

now all I need is people to play with. absolutely no one online. I'm hoping enough ppl return to the game so I can have a few good rounds of the "Territories" gametype. It really is quite a bit of fun.

I've been looking at this title for a little, but have been waiting for the patch before I buy. Anyone able to comment on what this really does for all the single player bugs ?

Thanks, Brian

Man, that's a HUGE patch. Usually when patches are that big they also offer some sort of additional content. What could they've possibly screwed up that requires a patch of this size? Looks like the dialup users (both of them) are in for a bit of a wait.

The bad release might unfortunatly have killed this game.

The patched version is what SHOULD have been released.

It is unfortunate for Digitalo, seeing at how hard game devs work on their products. But someone made an error somewhere to have such a buggy product ship.

The MP is enjoyable. Now if only more servers can pop-up .

That has got to be the biggest release patch ever! I'm just curious as to what was exactly fixed. At least its not as buggy as Warcraft 3. Blizzard sure does make some shoddy games.

They replaced a ton of sounds, including all the weapon sounds. That probably represents a good bit of the size.

That patch is bigger than Half-Life patches with TFC and their other two mods. I hope to god that large size includes some hit animations. I hate playing multiplayer and not knowing if I actually hit someone in my lag, blood is useless in that sense.

I guess I don't understand why people actually make the effort to jump in to forums and rip apart a game. It seems like a waste of energy...if you don't like a game, return it, and move on with your life...

...or maybe that's the problem. No life. Guess I'll never understand it. 'nuff said

I guess I don't understand why people actually make the effort to jump in to forums and rip apart a game. It seems like a waste of energy...if you don't like a game, return it, and move on with your life...

The reason for this is very simple: There are people who want other people to save money instead of wasting it for unfinished products!

Cock climber you didnt see about the US Marine reservist in Baghdad that took a 7.62 mm round to his helmet and it didnt penetrate...he was giving an interview on Fox.

I'd rather have the cool soldiers make fun of the way Uncle Sam dresses ours if ours can take rounds to their body armor and helmets and not be harmed.

As far as the soldiers behavior it seems pretty right-on to me....there have already been several incidents of women and children involved in attacks on the soldiers in some way or another.
