Out of the Blue

Well it seems like the annual pre-E3 lull has set in, as things are certainly not hopping to the extent that they were just a short time ago during what's become the annual post-holiday rush (or the rush that precedes the pre-E3 lull?). This shouldn't last much longer, as the E3 rush (or the post... ah, nevermind) seems to begin a little earlier every year, much like the holiday season... it's hard to believe that just a few years ago, the rush of E3 announcements actually began simultaneously with the show, where the last couple of years, the beginning of the show almost represented the end of most of the announcements.

There was a blurb from the oracle towards the end; is my memory failing or am I correct in recalling that the actor passed away during filming? Do I have that totally wrong?

You're correct, she passed away after doing her filming for part 2, but before her part 3 filming. The Bros. W claim they've come up with a way around this.

Loving that "Neo on the pole" spinshot (real or not)...(All apologies to Ray!)

Banning the name won't help. He'll just keep coming back as someone else. Banning the IP or even the domain would do a lot more.

wOO HOO for The Matrix!

Although I guess that I can give it credit for having some good integration of CG and live-action, the CG is still nowhere close to being realistic. Besides the more obvious "problems," the computers just love their round edges and elastic feel.

There was a blurb from the oracle towards the end; is my memory failing or am I correct in recalling that the actor passed away during filming? Do I have that totally wrong?

Wishing they had added as much philosophy as they have action,
Ray

Didn't Carmack, shortly after last years' E3, say that we would see something in the way of DOOM3 by E3'03? I can't recall the exact details, but I'd be quite happy if we saw DOOMTEST in the next month or so, or even a slew of new screenshots to drool over.

Whoa, I have to agree with some of the other posts on the Matrix2 trailer. The CGI is a bit too obvious for my taste, kind of ruins the emersion factor for me. I'm still hot for this movie but now have some reservations.
What I loved about the 1st movie is how real everything looked, I could get lost in the movie and truely enjoy it. Too much obvious CGI just seems cheesy to me.

Dude, no anger here, and I don't see how you read any into what I said. Irony, maybe, but not anger.

However, there are no britishisms and enough american-specific terms and references (What the heck is "Nordstrom's"? Anyone?) to make it almost certainly a product written by an American.

Ok, revision.

i always pictured blue as spanish

I don't really know the ethnic underpinnings of "Heaslip" but it sure doesn't sound Spanish.

Also, he doesn't look Spanish. Even with the goatee.

Edit: Holy crap... I finally found the reference to your day-of-birth alluded to last November, Blue! You're almost exactly 10 years older than I am... nearly to the day. I don't feel quite so old anymore.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, these problems usually keep coming back again and again.

I think that it's sometimes freddie making posts that are copies of the 'REMOVED' post. Not sure. Maybe if the 'REMOVED' post used a colour that isn't available in the special codes list? I dunno. Doesn't seem like a whole lot can be done about freddy, though.

I find the only post that has not been removed from fred's recent posting history funny.

Agreed...

Remember in Jurassic Park, when they realize how "intelligent" the Raptors are by observing them systematically testing the electrified fence to determine the exact limits of their confinement? I get the feeling we're watching a lower lifeform here extending the totality of its brainpower towards finding exactly what will qualify as deletion-worthy offenses.

Creepy. But funny, too.

Jeff

Why aren't people like him just banned from the boards? Seems like a waste of time & energy for Blue to go through and constantly *BA-LETE!!* his posts when we all know what those posts'll amount to anyway.

What the heck is "Nordstrom's"? Anyone?

http://www.nordstrom.com/

A department store, originated as a shoe store. Highly focused on customer service. Legendary customer service. For example, customers have returned used tires for refunds. Nordstrom does not sell tires.

What's her fame status over there?

I always think of Reagan and their friendship when I think oh her. I also think of The Smiths when I think of her.

Go figure.
