BF1942 Desert Combat for Sale?

War games see sales spike on CNN Money examines the impact of the war in Iraq on the sales of military-themed game titles, describing the spike in sales the conflict has inspired. Also included is an examination of the possible commercial future of the Gulf War-themed Desert Combat Mod for Battlefield 1942, offering this quote from Frank DeLise, the leader of the team behind the mod: "We've been approached by multiple publishers to try and sell it, so it's probably not going to be a mod for long. It'll be more of an expansion pack."

The DC-devs commented the CNN-article in a forum:

"While its WAY to early to see if DC will every make it to the shelves, we promise to do everything in our power to do the right thing for the gamers, My goal would be to do what CS has done, free download, pay for the box.

At this point, I really wouldn't worry about anything, for now you will get lots of free toys to play with for the forseable future.

And yes, it looks like DC .3 will be out sometime next week if there are no major bugs..
