BF1942 Patch

A new version 1.31 patch is now available for the retail version of Battlefield 1942, Digital Illusions' World War II shooter. The update fixes a crashing problem with co-op mode, removes the default remote admin password to prevent exploits, fixes wall hack exploits as well as an exploit that allowed players to hide within objects, and more. It is noted that SoundBlaster Audigy owners will need to turn on hardware sound acceleration due to an issue that remains in the patch. The 47 MB file can be found on EA Europe's FTP server (direct link), and there are mirrors on 3D Downloads, 3D Gamers, FilePlanet (registration required), FileShack (registration required), Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

Heh, Blue Rules. I just assumed that he was right and that the error was on the EA page.

Yup, perfectly fluid on my comp too. Running Audigy with highest sound settings and hardware accel. turned on...

Seems like they have put down the planes armour to something in between 1.2 and 1.3 to, will make the gameplay more balanced again. Planes were _evil_ in 1.3...

DOH, you nerd Blue! LOL, I just vented some steam on the Mad Onion forum about the whole 'disabling Hardware acceleration' issue. Oh well. Even el presidente can make mistakes! How about giving me a Gforce fx Ultra or a Radeon 9700 card as a way of saying sorry??? BIG SMILE 8)

You can find a free download link here (one of the best community-sites for BF1942 by the way);

You can? All I see there are links to mirrors of the files on other sites.

I fixed that FTP link... sorry about that.

The link to the EA Europe FTP server is broken - the start is a bit mangled.

About frikken time with this. The wall hack thing should have been fixed with a small patch within a week of 1.3 being released.

Cheers,
Quboid
