Out of the Blue

Out first winter in this house was two years ago, and the snow was pretty extreme, about half-way through the season I began to regret not having sprung for a snow-blower. Last year we had hardly any snow at all, making me feel smart for having not succumbed to that snow-blower temptation late in the previous winter. On the other hand, this year has been one of the most extreme I can ever recall, and here we are in the first week of March, and sure enough it is snowing heavily once again. Since this is the month that comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, it certainly seems too late in the season to go for the automated snow remover, and if the pattern from last time follows, one won't be needed for next year either, but I may just try and be smart about this (for a change) and try to pick one up during the off season after spring has sprung. Of course, as luck would have it, if I pick up a snow blower, we'll probably go ten straight years without a flake, but at this point, that's a risk I'm willing to take. Yeesh.

Hey Blue, any chance you could post a picture from out your window? I lived in North Jersey (Sussex, Passaic and Bergen Counties) all my life until recently, and now I'm stuck in FL. Yuck! It's hot, humid, sticky and just disgusting down here. Maybe something to remind me of home?...Yeah, and I can even turn the AC down some more to make it feel like those drafty winter days...

*sigh*

"Now, we gave you a promise and we are bound by that promise and damn you for asking for it! And damn me for agreeing to it! And damn all of us to hell, because that is exactly where we're going! We talked about peace. You didn't want peace. We talked about cooperation. You didn't want cooperation. You want war! Is that it? You want a war? Well you've got a WAR!"
