PoP: Sands of Time Announced

Blockbuster Brand Jumps Back into Action with Prince of Persia the Sands of Time is the announcement of the next installment in the platformer adventures of the acrobatic monarch. Word is the game will ship for all platforms by the end of this year, and Factornews has posted some rendered images from the game. "Here's a bit on the game from the press release: "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time takes place within an exotic, mysterious world representing Persian architecture, animals and attire. After his father invades the palace of the Maharajah, the Prince, tricked by a treacherous vizier, uses a magic dagger to release the dangerous Sands of Time from an ornate hourglass. With the aid of a beautiful, mysterious, and potentially untrustworthy ally, players embody the Prince to recapture the Sands of Time and restore peace to the land."

I never got far in the original game, it was way too hard for my little self back then.

If any of you need your acrobatic fix right now though, there's none better than Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell to give it.

In life, I want my mother to be well, to be with the woman I love, and to have fun with friends.
I am sorry, but at what point do the hating and murdering come into play???

I loved the 2D scrollers, but the 3D was awful. I hope this game will be a lot better.

Probably because it was Tomb Raider with a male lead character, that is, without the knockers.

Is it just me or did that "long awaited" Prince of Persia 3-D go out with a whimper and not a bang?

Yep - it's the game that made me go out and buy a SoundBlaster. I had the AdLib card at the time, but when I heard the clash of the swords on my friend's computer w/a SoundBlaster, I went out and bought one...

Played that game so much - even managed to finish the whole thing without dying once. That took me a while - had to re-start at least 20 times because of those @#&^% spikes...

I loved the original game. Must have played it a million times. I still have a fear of falling into a pit with retractable spikes at the bottom.

Prince of Persia is, for me, one of the old-school games. I always played the first part on a friends PC, even though I really sucked, and I played the second part on our family Mac like a berserk. Those fucking flying heads, I hated them.<br>
(Of course, I never bothered to try the 3rd part, especially after the decidedly average reviews it got. PoP in 3D, pshaw!)
