New World Order Gold

New World Order Shoots For Gold is the press release announcing that the North American version of Termite Games' upcoming first-person shooter is gold and off for duplication, though no expected in-store date is specified. Here's a bit on the game from the press release: "New World Order serves up over 15 real life weapons including the M-16, Desert Eagle and AK-5 in 5 different game modes: team deathmatch, hostage rescue, plant the bomb, team escape and fallout. Players can also take on the AI-opposition together in cooperative gameplay. The Next-generation DVA™ engine features spectacular and accurate effects that immerse you into the world of international terrorism on three different levels of difficulty: easy, normal and hard in singleplayer mode or you can take on fellow gamers in multiplayer mode on a LAN or the internet."

This game is the crappiest 3d shooter of 2002/3

Don't touch it! Don't even think of buying it! Don't even think of downloading it! Don't even think about it!

The immersiveness of the FPS perspective simply begs for realism, and unfortunately the last big game that tried to distance itself from this trend turned out to be crap.

If you want fantasy and originality now, pick up an RPG.

BTW, I wouldn't call Deus Ex 2 original. Revolutionary, but not original. I was impossible for me to play the first game without picking up on the System Shock 2 and Thief influences.

I hope this one turns out to be better than Global Ops was. That one had a lot of potential, but turned out to be a real stinker, mostly because they couldn't seem to write decent network code. It was a lagfest whenever you got more than a couple people in close quarters.

NWO looks like it has promise too. I hope they're not letting the person that did their website anywhere near the game tho

the industry will keep making them as long as there is a demand for 'realistic' games. just look at how many people are playing cs/dod/mohaa/bf42.

i think the natural selection mod is the only game out recently with originality.

When will the industry tire of pumping these out?
Haven't we seen enough 'real world action'?

How about some originality folks?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll wait for Deus Ex 2.

On release in Europe it was pretty dire (which was a shame cos it has potential) The three or four patches Termite released certainly improved the game for me (went from being a coaster to getting reinstalled) The game was a total system hog when it was first released and had some real weapon balancing issues but the patches resolved most of those.

I would think that the US version should have all of these patches (and more ?) integrated which is good for the US gamer
