Actually, with the money DICE got from this deal, they are supposed to develop 3 games on their own - that EA later will publish/distribute. That means even more control over the production than with BF1942 (where DICE owned the IP, but EA funded the development). It's a bigger risk too, but if the games are successful, more money will stay with the developer (DICE) rather than slip through to the publisher (EA).
