Out of the Blue

Well I'm glad I mentioned that unsolicited pop-up dealie yesterday, because a forum comment made it clear that what I was suffering from was not a scumware situation, but rather a method for exploiting an internal Windows service. Thankfully indiv posted a link to the Stop Messenger Spam website, which clearly explained the problem, and how to solve it. Whew!

Wild Science: Japanese scientist invents 'invisibility cloak'. Thanks Christine Albers.
Tadpoles take blame for human hiccups. Thanks shafty.
Weird Science: Nuke Plants Aging Disgracefully. Thanks Mike Martinez.
Corn-Based Duds Future of Chic. Thanks Mike Martinez.
Auction of the Day: Cray Mainframe (S-MP). Thanks W.Sean Harrison. How the mighty have fallen.

I can't believe it took you this long to get a messenger spam Blue.

I finally made the jump to 2K from win98 in the fall and I think I got my first message about 2 days later.

Hopefully that doesn't mean that some amazing streak of luck has just ended for you.
