All I know is it played like crap when I *bought* it and I, therefore, took it back. I don't condone EA's practice of finishing a game after release. If it's not playable upon the day of purchase, forget it. I won't pay for the privilege of being a beta tester.
See... now you just sound like you have a vendetta against EA. Are you seriously implying that they are the only company to do this?
Would we like games to be more stable on release? Sure. Are we
ever going to see a world where all games (or even a significant percentage) are bug-free on launch? Not as long as the complexity of them continues to increase.
You got your money back... you just said so... so why do you still vent such vitriol at EA? BF 1942 must have worked well enough for most of us, or it wouldn't have the phenomenal popularity it does today. It didn't work for you at launch, and that really is an honest shame, but you act like EA did that to you on purpose.
