Infogrames sends along the announcement that Unreal II: The Awakening, Legend Entertainment's
single-player sequel to Epic's science fiction first-person shooter, has gone
gold. Word on availability is that it should be in North American stores during
the first week in February.
so in my opinion their playing that game for free, while illegal and pirating, is NOT costing you any money. They never would have bought it anyways. Their playing it or not playing it isn't affecting your bottom line

Get real, tell me with a straight face you've never, ever bought anything on a whim because it seemed like you might like it, and then I'll believe that none of them would ever have bought those games anyways. Some would never buy them, true, but not all, so in the end, the bottom line is affected
