Out of the Blue

Being particularly fond of instances where life imitates art, I had to do a double-take at Wanted: What's His Name Again, a Wired article sent along as a link of the day candidate (thanks Mike Martinez). I think we're about one TButtle away from living in the world depicted in Brazil, which is perhaps my favorite all-time movie. If Michael Palin comes to your door looking for someone, be sure to double-check his paperwork.

Link of the Day: Top Ten Worst Game Covers. Thanks Ant.
Stories of the Day: New York's most expensive burger (NY Times free registration required). Thanks Mike Martinez.
Images of the Day: Lee Harvey and the Dallas Fuzz (featuring Jack Ruby). Thanks Sean Hannan.

Väsby in sweden offers a "Mammas lyxmeny" för approx 50$.

50$ ??? what?!! you have to mean 50 SEK.. which is about 7-8$ for you non-scandinavians..

Actually, a burgerjoint in my hometown of Upplands Väsby in sweden offers a "Mammas lyxmeny" för approx 50$. It isn't listed on their homepage http://medlem.spray.se/mammasgrill/ but it's listed on the menu in the resteaurant.

Hell, I'd spend massive ammounts of money to be Kobe beef. Fed beer and massaged every day - where do I sign up? Just don't let me know when I get the bolt through the head.

Funny as it seems people spend massive ammounts of money on Kobe beef.

Of course I could be wrong... but really, what are the chances of that happening twice?

The Dead Kennedys' logo was a nice touch. Anyone know who the guy with glasses is in the left background? He's not the same guy in the Pulitzer Prize version.

Everyone knows that Nintendo had a contest for kids (under 12 IIRC) to design the cover art for Mega Man. It was sponsered by the Official Nintendo Fan Club or something like that (they did this for a few of their games...my friend would always send a pic in).

So, in effect, the cover art is something that a 10 or 11 year old would pump out, having no prior experience playing the game. I'm sure their inspiration was from ads or a game description or something. And, for that matter, a box cover that was professionaly designed AND still sucked balls (i.e. Yo Bro!) should have won...or lost.

I've had a smaller version of that Harvey pic for years now and have been looking for a larger version. Thanks! (It's now hanging in my office!)

Perhaps those can serve as inspiration for Blues Art guy Walter "|2|" Costinak. I can just imagine it now, that pic of megaman where blues face should be.

I actually bought that game for the NES and remember realizing the cover had almost nothing to do with the actual game.

I had the same thoughts after finishing Phalanx. Oh what game could be called complete without banjos?

hey, where's ray? figured he'd have added a few nominees by now...

Are you kidding me? That megaman cover is easily the crappiest thing anyone's 10 year old daughter has slapped on a video game package.

Kobe beef, imported from Japan, comes from cattle raised on beer and massaged daily to make the meat soft and succulent.

Quite funny article, and some REALLY bad covers especiallly "Yo Bro!", but some, or atleast one is jugded for the game inside, and not the cover. I dont like the band but ive always thought INXS has some cool covers, or atleast funny and original(well not like supercool, but atleast "ok"...)And that scout-cover is funny i think. I also thought Black Belt or Yo Bro!(<--woa that name is AMAZING!!) should have won (or lost..)
