Unreal II Trailer

The official Unreal II: The Awakening Website has relaunched, offering a Flash intro to the upcoming Unreal sequel in the works at Legend Entertainment, along with some new screenshots, and a new video trailer from the game. The site is a bit hammered at the moment, and the gameplay movie has been mirrored on Worthplaying and on Tiscali Games where it's been converted to smaller and larger DivX-format files.

Haha, that was probably World's Wildest Police videos. The host tries so hard to inject excitement into every video clip :).

Anyhow, the voice acting and character movement seems pretty uninspiring right now. I think the way to handle scripted sequences is with the seriousness shown in Mafia. It really makes the experience more engaging.

I thought it looked pretty good, how can you judge if it's as good as HL only by watching a trailer? I think the game will be really good.

Yah found it "slightly" too fast paced as well.
They were switching scenes so fast that my head got dizzy, couldnt even check out the detail or atmoshpere.

seems like every type of film/game/moving media entertainment is like that now. It started with MTV (I think) and it seems like its become a nation of people who have the attention span of a crack baby. I watch almost zero television but I tuned into some cop show one night a year or two ago and the editing was like a music video trying to be "edgy" but it just came off as annoying.

...or maybe I'm just getting old

Q. When will female science officers stop wearing revealing clothing?

A. When horny teenage boys stop playing video games.

Bravo Legend, good trailer. It plays just like a movie promo. I've not paid much attention to Unreal II up to this point, but this piqued my interest some.

Definitely some bad voice acting. Whoever did that first 'distress call' monologue is laughably unconvincing.

I'm totally looking forward to this game. It doesn't have to have 50 layers of depth for me to be able to have fun with it. I got an xbox for Christmas and have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying it. It's the first console I've had in ages and I'm actually really impressed. I think it's pretty obvious (for those of us not afraid to admit it)that the console is finally catching up to the pc. The pc is still my first choice, but games like mechassault and splinter cell on the xbox are mighty nice.

(Skaarj seems a bit unskaarj aswell)

I really am looking forward to the title(big unreal fan) and it just seems they didnt perhaps know how to make a correct trailer for Unreal II which should show something the fans are most looking forward to, instead of showing the general action scenes for all the um. quake freaks, so to say.

from such a short glimse its probably too early to say don't ya think ? the movie is just a trailer, pure PR with probably most of the scenes out of context (like ya average movie trailer at the cinema)

me, I'll wait for the reviews and actual hands-on previews before jumping to conclusions

That, or perhaps they just can't edit video for crap. Or maybe the video was done at the behest of the publisher who can think "action only".

I see what you're saying though. If they wanted us to think this was something other than "guy with gun runs around, kills things, then leaves" then they didn't accomplish that with this trailer at all.

This makes me more intrigued to play Metroid Prime (and privately ashamed that my favorite title at the moment is on a console).

I guess its is a mark of progress, sort of, that the world of computergames evidently can look forward to shallow, stereotypical and uninteresting computer actors (and possibly bad scripts as well).

Aren't these the guys who claims to surpass Half-Life? From these short glimpses it seems that they do not understand that such an undertaking must be done intelligently, like it was done in NOLF and Half-Life.
