Unreal II Preview

There's an Unreal II: the Awakening Preview on Computer and Video Games with a look at the upcoming shooter sequel in the works at Legend Entertainment. Based on getting to check out the game first-hand, the article includes quotes from Legend's Glen Dahlgren in discussing how the Unreal follow-up may finally surpass Half-Life in the author's mind as the preeminent single-player FPS, what gameplay is like, and the decision to forego any sort of multiplayer support.

"If the guys at Id are capable of creating a state of the art new engine, creating whats assumed to be an awesome sp player experience and also include a mp aspect, there is no reason why these bastards at Legend can't create a minor MP aspect to a single player game with a game engine that was handed to them on a friggin platter."

I thought I read that the next id game(DoomIII)is single player only? And they are concentrating on SP because they want it to shine. Carmack himself said it is too much to do a great SP & great MP game all in one. One side inevitably suffers.

As long as it is a good game I will buy it. I don't care if it's SP&MP or just one or the other. If it's good it's good. Some of you guys need to burn one and just chill...
