Unreal II Preview

There's an Unreal II: the Awakening Preview on Computer and Video Games with a look at the upcoming shooter sequel in the works at Legend Entertainment. Based on getting to check out the game first-hand, the article includes quotes from Legend's Glen Dahlgren in discussing how the Unreal follow-up may finally surpass Half-Life in the author's mind as the preeminent single-player FPS, what gameplay is like, and the decision to forego any sort of multiplayer support.

Well I'm really looking forward to Unreal II, had the bugger on pre-order for bleedin ages - the hype always pisses me off as much as the next man, but I really believe that Legend are going to come up with the goods on this one - ever play Wheel of Time ? Great game for its day and the architecture and level design was outstanding.

I'm not overly arsed about MP in this one, got BF1942, UT2K3 and CS for that. I would rather have no multiplayer than a half arsed tick on the box personally.

Comparisons with HL or any major SP driven FPS's are totally inevitable, there has to be some point of reference and justification for what the author has written, if he had mentioned no other games when writing the article it would have looked plain stupid.

For me, actually playing it when it ships in about a months time will be the proof of the pudding... canna wait!

B: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

P: I think so, Brain, but where are we going to find a duck and a hose at this hour?
