Impossible Creatures Test More Possible

A post on Relicnews has news that the Impossible Creatures Stress Test, previously only available to registered users of FilePlanet (story), has now been opened up to more widespread distribution. Here's word on the game's planned full release, as well as more on the test, which requires an internet connection due to the DRM software included: "The Impossible Creatures (IC) Multiplayer Stress Test contains the tutorial, a skirmish mode, animal combiner and online play. This test contains 14 of the 51 creatures that will be available at release. This beta test is scheduled to end on January 2nd, but can be freely distributed until that time. The final version is scheduled to ship to stores on January 7th." The file is available from 3D Gamers.

Digital Rights Management.

it contacts a server to make sure you have the rights to use the content you're trying to open.

it's automatic, you won't even notice it.

I'll pass thank you. I'm not going to infect my computer with this DRM, and have no real clue what it does.

because they're too lazy to upload a non-drmed version. Or they want to activate DRM restrictions later.

Essentially, they're allowing complete access now, but they may want to restrict it later (to shut it down)

protecting demo software this way is probably a good thing, often publishers don't want to do demos because they become freeware. this gives them control

DRM? Why? Its not music? Why not just use safe disk? This is extremely homosexual, if other software makers follow after MS's example, no one is going to buy software anymore.
