Breed Demo Next Year

A status report on the overdue demo for Breed, Brat Designs' upcoming FPS is now available, following the Demo will not be released today forum post from a couple of months ago (story), which turned out to be an understatement. CDV Community manager Frederic Cremer has made a Breed Demo forum post (thanks eXtreme-Players.de) in German that could be called 'Demo will not be released this year,' as a Babel Fish translation reveals the gist of the post to be: "The fact that the demo will appear still in this year is impossible."

He, he, he...that is just like, two years ago, when a game could be said to be "Not coming out in this century."

Ray, you're a marketing genius! Since everyone's tired of "when it's ready", it will now be changed to - Duke Nukem Forever, coming out "Sometime This Century!"

When so many damn good games are coming out (these days), who cares when this demo comes out. The game comes out sometime next year, and that's what is important to me. I look forward to this game as much as I look forward to DOOM3's spiffy graphics or the elusive DNF.

He, he, he...that is just like, two years ago, when a game could be said to be "Not coming out in this century."

I will say that Breed looks interesting, especially for its price, but I will need to see a demo of it before I make any decision about purchasing it. I do not want a Gore-type game and the game will be up against some heavy competition by the time it does come out.

As for the demo date, I have not been keeping track of whatevewr projected dates there were, but I am not particularly surprised. Although the listing seems to be down at the moment, EBG was listing the game as shipping in the second quarter of '03. Presuming that there were no other delays, which already seems unlikely, it would not make sense to release the demo that far ahead of the retail release.

Waiting for a number of FPS games in '03,
Ray

Of course, there are only a couple of weeks left in the year. So saying it won't be released this year still might mean less than a month away.

See, it's all in how you look at it.:)

A delay in the gaming world? I'm shocked.

Its no suprise really. I dont have a lot of high hopes for this game. It looks too much like what Halo was originally meant to be back in 2000. It'd be nice if it worked though, but Halo is coming to PC next summer anyways.

Bit of a bummer that there won't be a demo this year, I thought after the last delay we were only a couple of weeks away (especially since the reason for the last delay didn't seem that major - guess it was!)

Oh well, would rather play a decent demo than a sub-standard p.o.s!
