This Blizzard Entertainment Press Release announces plans to premiere a new cinematic trailer for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos in theaters beginning tomorrow with the opening of James Bond: Die Another Day. The new trailer will also appear "before such movies as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Star Trek: Nemesis, and Solaris." Word is: "Additionally, patrons of AMC Theatres will be able to take home a free Warcraft III Game Sampler CD-ROM when they purchase a large Coke and a Butterfinger candy bar at the concession stand. This exclusive disc includes a playable demo of the game, featuring three new Warcraft III single-player missions, and three new multiplayer maps to be used with the full version of the game." A post on GameSpot confirms the demo will also be made available on the internet "at the beginning of December."

Has anyone actually seen this damn thing? I mean... its been playing for some time now, and I'm sure there are people out there reading this page that actually want to see that new james bond flick... I wanna know if it's a new commercial, or just some old one they threw into the mix for the hell of it... Now I know everyone, including myself, will see it at the two towers showing, but I'm kind of interested, for they really know how to make some kick ass commercials and trailers...

If they did make a CG movie it would

A: Take them FOREVER to do because Blizzard is all about perfection and

B: Probaly have a storyline that didn't sound like it was written by a 5 year old *cough* final fantasy *cough*.

But would they base it in the Warcraft, Starcraft, or Diablo universe....I'd go with Warcraft....

Commercials (which this is) don't get nominated for Oscars. If you guys really want Blizzard to make a CG movie, bug the hell out of them. Everyday.

It might be interesting to note that Blizzard is a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal (Universal Pictures) so that may be a possible reason/gateway for why they chose to advertise on the big screen.

For an animated short (or anything else) to be eligible, it must first be shown in a theatre for a week ( I think, it's something like that). Blizzard is doing a one two punch - push it's game before the holidays, and get bigtime recognition for it's awesome cinimatixxxxx dept by pushing for the film in the acadamy awards. Way to go blizzard! This could be the first oscar for a 3dsmax animation!

No point in warezing the demo. If you actually read the ENTIRE news post before posting your comments you would have read "A post on GameSpot confirms the demo will also be made available on the internet 'at the beginning of December'."

3 new single player missions sounds nice but I'd rather see the expansion pack!!!

And am still trying it. Prepare to get stomped for a while though, the learning curve is larger than a lot of games of this type. Massing equals death in this one, unlike in other rts's- with the exception of large games like 3v3 where if everybody on your team masses complimentary units you may do well.

... buy the LotR FotR Special/Collectors edition with the extra 30 minutes of footage and start saving for The Two Towers special edition now.

I played a bit (6 or 8 hours) of Wc3 and thought it was the same ole thing with better graphics... maybe I should try the multi-player.

If people pirate this CD, will Blizzard get mad?

Of course the point of something like this would be the neato possession factor, so who cares?

**Note to self - look up "bishounen" when you get home**

On-topic, Blizzard better release the single-player and multimplayer maps on the 'net if they truly are "new"

Yes, LOTR is a nerd movie.
I'm fairly sure that 68% of the profits came from nerds and
chicks with bishounen fetishes. And we all know that chicks
with bishounen fetishes have the internet. And you can't
have the internet and not of been able to hear about
Warcraft III.
