Impossible Creatures Diary

The Impossible Creatures Development Diary on PC.IGN.Com features some thoughts from Drew Dunlop, lead technical programmer on Relic's upcoming game of diving headfirst into the gene pool. He discusses the working of the "Combiner engine," the technology that allows for the game's namesake mix-and-match critters, going into the requirements they had for the technology, why they did things the way they did, the flexibility required to make the graphics succeed, how they feel the engine turned out, and more.

There is a demo of it on the CD in the latest edition of PCGamer. It's interesting, but I think I liked their original concept for it better. I think it got to big for them though.
