Consolidation

Microsoft pushes Xbox online (thanks Mike Martinez) has word on today's big launch: "Microsoft on Friday will raise its stakes in the gaming market with an elaborate new online service for its Xbox video game console." Meanwhile, Online Gaming Thinks Inside Xbox is a Wired article on the same topic, and Xbox Live vs. PS2 Online on CNET.com offers review comparisons.

I think they will stick with the price per year. Either 20 or 30 dollars is pretty damn good if they keep it at that... if not that's still worth the headset and first year alone. I don't think they vastly overrated the number of people with BB/x-box's, which is what the numbers for the online users comes from. With the intergration of x-box live in titles it just sweetens the deal.

I know i'm only going to be using the live part of the x-box for a select few games, but the play time vs cost is worth it to me.

Now if they would only add live support to the DoA volleyball game.

>>> Pushing XBox Live? Oh cool, does that mean it's going to be free?

No, no, it's as in "Pushing it down your throat, weather you think you need it or not." (Like any good MS sales pitch!)

And isn't this broadband only? I think MS is VASTLY overrating the number of people with broadband AND who want to pay an additional X dollars a month to play on the MS network.

I'll stick with my pc and gamecube...

Nope, guess not. I'd like to push it...out the window (it should make a nice deep dent in the concrete too)
