The 64 limit is present in every sim and FPS.
Most simply get around it by only letting 64 players to play at once.
And if you spend an hour setting up for a few minutes of action, you really need to develope some idea of tactics.
The longest you should drive is between the close towns(they don't have forward bases), and that is a 5 or 6 minute truck drive. From forward bases it is more like 2 or 3 minutes. If you don't want to die it is about 2-3 times that going in off road.
On a good 20 minutes run in a Panzer I can average 4 or 5 kills. I find it fun trying to use tactics to beat the enemy who is actually another person, unpredictable and deadly.
Some things about it I find fun
Using a treeline to block the Matty's(big mean assed tank) view of me as I cross the road and get my Panzer into the thick grass on the other side and unbuckle to make sure he didn't see you. Glad to see he is still shooting at the far off forward base, you start moving through the grass towards his flank.
Your commander sees an A13(lightly armored medium tank with a big mean gun) comign up the road(yet another person who heads straight up the road then complains he gets killed by people actuall using cover). You turn your gun towards him and he finally comes into your gunner's LOS through the bushes. You open fire, shooting first the turret twice and then the driver's view slit. You look behind you and see smoke start to seep from the opening and soon flames are pouring out. You must have hit the magazine.
You look ahead of you and see another A13 further down the road. You continue and suddenly you see the Mattilda get back on the road to go in closer. One of the two engines in the Matilda must have been hit and all of the oil pressure has boiled off.
You see that the Matty will reach you just barely first, so you hide your tank behind some bushes beside the road and wait for him. He finally comes into view of your gunner, but you hold your fire, knowing that if you shoot before you have a favorable angle on the side you are dead. You hold you fire till he is 20 feet from you, then you shoot into the spot behind the turret on the side superstructure at about a dead on angle. You shoot multiple times, abnd as you look back you see that he has caught fire. You must have penetrated and hit the ammo storage or fuel.(yes the balistic model is that realistic)
more later
got to get in the game
