1. How would I "prove it"? Show you credit card numbers? You're correct that peak traffic is usually in the 1000-1500 range (more after a patch -- patch fever). This, in fact, DOES indicate a player base of ~10,000 players; MMOGs typically run in the 10-20% range of active peak vs. total subscribers. EQ has perhaps the highest ratio; 100,000 peak; 433,000 total. That's about 23%. I suppose you're arguing that the actual number is what, "only" 7,500?
Anyway, *I* am telling you. *I* am with CRS. You can also petition the bankruptcy court in Texas for a copy of the disclosure statement if you like. We have over 10,000 subscribers.
2. DUH! There are not free *accounts* in gaming magazine CDs. There are free trials, JUST LIKE THE FREE TRIAL YOU GET WHEN YOU BUY THE GAME IN THE BOX. To play more than, for example, 2 weeks, you gotta BUY your account. They are no more free accounts than EQ has free accounts when you buy their game in a store and play for a month.
3. Really. Yes, I do see WW2OL being carried. Sorry, Canada does not have some monolithic gaming cabal which decides which games will be stocked in all companies within its borders.
4. How great the Mac is as a gaming platform is irrelevant to the fact that it is being published.
5. Thousands of people are paying $12.99/month who obviously think it *is* for them. Maybe you think they are just stupid. Personally, I think most of the subscribers to EverQuest are pretty stupid.
