The game shipped out today and should be in most stores tomorrow. If anybody wants to play a fun game that only costs $30, likely less if you can find it discounted, I highly suggest this title.

Going to be looking for it in the coming days,
Ray

The foliage does look very, very good. Some of the screenshots also look quite immersive. If more people play the demo hopefully we can get some more servers up and running.

This game rocks. I played the single last night and it was really sweet. The simplicity of the whole package really adds to the desire.

Things I liked...
1. Item weight hampers movement and fatigue.
2. Simple item storage slots.
3. Simple drop/pick up system.
4. All items are dropped when a character dies. (nice because you can grab there TNT to finish the goal.)
5. TNT timer is awesome. (can select 10/20/30 etc... times for timer.)
6. Accuracy is limited by character skill level. (hard to use rockets, etc.)
7. Graphics are simple but the grass/shrubs are awesome. I'd love to see pure jungle board.
8. Personal mines are sweet. Nicely hidden but can still be spotted if you're slow.

I'll to play with it more but my first night was great. I'll play some multi tonight, hopefully.

well, that's really a pitty, because actually the foliage in dd2 puts the oh so hyped one in Sof2 to shame. DD2 foliage is the best I have seen so far.

I played both single player and multiplayer (mission). I actually enjoyed multiplayer more when there good players. I know the game isn't pretty as Battlefield 1942, but it is fun. I still haven't found a crowded server (8 at most so far) yet. I am not sure if I really want to get the full version (too many games, so little time).

Well this game has done something that it seems half of the big budget titles can't do... recognize in the menu system that I have my primary mouse button set to the right button. Oooohh Joy.

"and grenade throwing is nearly as bad as America's Army."

What I mean by that is that it doesn't feel right. In AA it seems like they're putting a shot instead of tossing a grenade.

In DD2 it's just plain akward.

That is weird because I do not have that problem, while others do. Then again, more people seem to have the problem with having identical color depths (game vs. desktop) than have my problem with the game not running if the desktop/game resolutions are not the same.

Shrugging, just glad that it works great now :),

you mean someone's throwing a grenade every 2 seconds around every blind corner?

oh, you meant the other problem.

While not really a bad game, it's not one I'll be picking up.

Foilage and lights are filled with graphics glitches with my ATi 7500 (which isn't uncommon... :/ ) and a few gameplay bugs (such as warping or near-invincible enemies) really take alot of the fun out of it.

The weapons also need quite alot of tweaking as the flamethrower is really underpowered and grenade throwing is nearly as bad as America's Army.

what about getting kicked back to the desktop constantly? It seems like after playing for about 5-10 minutes it just drops you and the whole application just ends. All my drivers are up to snuff as well as the latest version of DX8

It's a directX bug. You can't use the same resolution and color setting in the game if you have it for the desktop.

So set your desktop to 16bit 1024x768, say, and the game for 32bit.

You can choose 32-bit if you use resolutions 1240x760 and higher.

Yes, it's a budget game in the sense that it was made on a tiny budget and will cost you less than $30... As you may have noticed though, there's really not that much "budget" about the actual end result. =)

If it is I'm very surprised. Although not perfect it can stack up to alot of the big games out there. The foilage is incredible, makes you feel like you're really walking through it. Sound effects are pretty nice also. I thought the weapon models look great and disagree with the other comment on them. Knowing alot about the weapons of that era I'd have to say they look really good. Better than MOH. The gun sounds are a little weak but nothing to really complain about. Overall I'd say this looks like a great game and if it's a budget game then it's even better. I'll probably pick this one up. Haven't tried mulitiplayer yet though.

Finally a Pacific theatre FPS,not counting BF1942 since it is more of a multiplayer game and the single player sucks. I had enough of Europe

Graphics are okay(can't seem to select 32bit color),some nice foliage, believable enviroments, and if one of your teammate dies there is even a short speech by the CO after the mission in memory of your fallen comrade,a nice touch.
Really good effort for a budget(?)game. Worth getting.
