Out of the Blue

It was six years ago today that this site moved to this domain and officially adopted the name of Blue's News. I am struck by a tremendous urge to try and list all the people from MrsBlue on forward that I would like to thank for helping make this site what it is, but there is no way I could manage such a feat without omitting at least half those who would deserve inclusion in such a list, and even then, it would be like the Academy Award speech from hell (apologies to Richard Lewis). Then there is my gratitude to all of you for your ongoing support, so if you would all just please consider yourself thanked, I will, um, thank you.

Thank you for all these years. Your site has been my window to the internet and news via everything under OOTB (link of the day, etc). Keep up the great work dood.

Blue, Thank *you*! You've been my homepage in everything from a 486 dx2/66, a University Sun Solaris Workstation, my roommates p133, a P166, and now my 1900xp+.

The more my hardware changes, my homepage has always stayed the same.

I plan on keeping it that way.

Wow, doesn't seem like that long!

Every morning, I arrive at work and carry out my "wire run", looking for news and tech stuff that might be relevant or interesting to work.

aardvark.co.nz --> idg.net.nz --> www.wired.com --> WWW.BLUESNEWS.COM --> www.cnn.com -->www.stuff.co.nz

Bluesnews has been somewhere in that list for 6 years now... WELL DONE, BLUE!! Bloody good show.

No, that's it.

I've been here off and on over the years under different monickers since day one. I've been online since the 300bps BBS days. I recall "surfing" with Lynx, than being floored as I saw history unfold with something called a web browser.
It's pretty damn amazing how far and how fast we've come in the last 10 years.
Once again, gratz Blue!

Funny, that seemed low to me. The Burger King in my area starts their grunts at $9-10 an hour.

What in the hell? $12.50 an hour for Tech support? I'd like to know what reality he's living in. That's more than I make as the Webmaster/Hostmaster of a large ISP. When I worked tech support it was $7.50 an hour, and that was not even 2 years ago.

This site has outlasted a good number of others. Congrats on longevity and dedication. ... Whatever happened to Redwood, anyway? Back in the day, Blue's and Redwood's were the two sites to hit.

Thanks Blue for keeping the site going for all these years.

I can't recall if I've been visiting since before it was bluesnews.com, but I do remember when the site was primarily dedicated to news relating ID's Quake (I) just before and around the time of the release of that game. Now it has become my one-stop daily source for pretty much all gaming/hardware/tech related news and of course, OotB.

Thanks for your dedication and keep up the good work!

"Is the Images of the Day real? I read the descriptions and decided not to go further. Maybe after I finish lunch."

Most of the pics are X-Rays and therefore not gruesome. The few real pics aren't that bad except the lady who picked a hole in her face with her fingernails.

...I can't even see the ads. IE keeps blocking them, which makes it very annoying when you use the back button

First, congrats to blue and all of that stuff. I've said it and I'm sure a lot more will too.

As far as the article of speaking to the supervisor, I can say it's true. I work at Sprint PCS call center and yes, I do know more than my boss does. So don't ask to speak to him. Thanks.

*edit*
And yes there is a popup. Got it when I first returned to the thread after making this post.

One of your ad's is misbehaving Blue... Seems like one of your advertisers snuck in a popup.
