Out of the Blue

Just a little nonsense for a slow Sunday. Thanks to Minman for sending along this screenshot of this very site pointing out an advertisement here may just be blowing the cover of No One Lives Forever's Cate Archer. Curse the press and their constant security leaks!!!

Story of the Day: Sharing home base - Five A's players team up as roommates in rented Lafayette house. Thanks Ryan "mus" Case.
Media of the Day: I am the Wolfman. A video for a PS2 game, but fine old stand-alone entertainment. Thanks Darrin Michelson.
Weird Science: System error, reboot mind. Thanks Mike Martinez.
Auction of the Day: Andrew Jackson $20 Bill (one of a kind). Thanks Brad Vincent.

Sopranos - One of these days, one of these days...maybe.

Wolfman - Have no idea. If anything, it seems more like one of those "Live in Your World, Play in Ours" advertisements than a commercial for a specific game.

$20 - Unless I am mistaken, each bill has its own unique serial number. Well, they may recycle numbers as recycle/re-print bills, but I could not say for sure. I would presume the poster was making a joke about eBay and its users, about the things they sell, how items are sold, and the way people hype things. Then again, the joke is on the bidders; as of 23:47 Pacific, the price is currently at $20.50. Presuming that shipping charges are excluded from the bidding price, he has already made a $0.50 profit.

Yanks - Which basketball team is that???

Only awake for a few more minutes, off to sleep,
Ray

First, how about that Sopranos tonight? Woo! Had me on the edge of my seat for sure -- best episode of this year so far IMO.

Re: wolfman -- Isn't that video really old? I heard about it and vaguely remember watching in on IGN like a year ago, maybe more. Goo goo ga-joob! er....

Re: Andrew Jackson $20 -- why is it the only bill with that serial number? Or am I just missing a joke? Due to the ambiguity of the sentence that describes the bill in question in the auction listing, one might believe that the seller is advertising the only printed bill featuring Jackson, as if all other $20 bills had another person on them.

Re: Devster -- exactly my thought, hehe.

Hey New Yorkers -- what about them Yanks? This White Sox fan, for one, isn't at all bothered by their elimination

Having been deprived of just about everything (like internet time) except work for the last 3 days, I leave all of these comments... anyone still awake?

Nah, we are all entitle to our own opinion. Heck, there are many games that I do not like-even ones that I can understand/recognize as being "Classic;" case in point, I do not like any of the Civilization games.

<shrugging> I love that game and that is what matters.

Combat by tricycle; 'nuff said.

Oh screw it, BETZ GAEM EVAR!!!1111111

Having way too much fun with this game :),

NOLF2 isn't that fun, i haven't tried MP but the SP is just plain boring. Yea the levels look good, but its the same thing over and over again.... the AI gets boring after the 2nd map. Game gets pretty jittery when more than 3-4 enemies are on screen, my system should run this game quite well, i think its the engine.

oh well

I can send you 1337 screenshots to torture keep you appraised of the game's greatness.

Having actually done just that to certain associates ,
Ray (pointing out that the above own the game now)

Hmmm. Is there a causal relationship between that? If so, please send me some screenshots :).

The official date for the UK import here ist October 18th and the US import costs a whopping 56 for some reason :(. So I'm quite interested in that new way to synthesize a game from 1337 screenshots

Never going to play the local german version

NOLF2 is that good! Where else can you play a British secret agent that fights Japanese ninjas with a shotgun in an Ohio trailer park during a tornado?

You know, I think I understand what you're like now. You're very beautiful and you think men are only interested in you because you're beautiful, but you want them to be interested in you because you're you. The problem is, aside from all that beauty, you're not very interesting. You're rude, you're hostile, you're sullen, you're withdrawn. I know you want someone to look past all that at the real person underneath but the only reason anyone would bother to look past all that is because you're beautful. Ironic, isn't it? In an odd way you're your own problem.

Not not actually for a particular game. It's one of a series of videos for the introduction of the PS2 in europe. If I remember right, David Lynch was shomehow involved with the project.

To take the NOLF 2 theme from today and...go in a different direction :), I cannot stress how good this game is, especially for anybody that is a fan of the original. The game is great and just keeps on getting better and better with each new level. Heck, it may even be better than the Fishtank game from yesterday.

Thinking the people behind Wolfman need some serious help :),
Ray

I'll say. Anyone know where you can get a decent version of the video? I can hardly tell what I am looking at, although the audio is enough.
