There's a Battle Realms: Winter of the Wolf
Preview on PC.IGN.Com with a look at the upcoming expansion pack for Liquid
Entertainment's RTS game. The article starts out expressing frustration at the
limited success of the original game considering its quality, possibly one of
the reasons it will be included with the expansion, which will therefore not be
limited to purchasers of Battle Realms. They go on to set the story of the
add-on, which is a prequel to the original game, and offer some impressions of
the single-player campaign based on playing with a beta of the expansion,
including how you assemble your first set of troops, how units have been
rebalanced, and a description of the new units that will be available to each of
the game's clans.

Haven't tried it myself, but it'll come out around the same time as AOM... imho, I think this will be the "nice little replacement for those tired of WC3"
I'm really looking forward to this expansion. Battle Realms is one of the best unnoticed games out there, and anybody owes it to themselves to pick up this one and check it out. A nice little replacement for those tired of WC3.
