Obviously a case study in not being able to distinguish fantasy from reality...

Or

I like the latent homo comment. You see I can't understand why a guy would want to be a guy in a game, unless they like looking at a guy's ass. (I guess this is the real reason why guys like football.)

I like playing with female characters for just the opposite reason, they're sexy, strong, intelligent and their asses look a lot better than guys do!

So you don't like being Lara, but are quite happy being a Troll, a Fat Italian Plumber, a Purple Dragon, a Pacman, etc?

I think that's just shows a lack of imagination

Does anyone really enjoy playing a shooter as a female character? Do you know that when you play the game and blast the bad guys, you're also walking around with a vagina? Doesn't that bother you? I could never get that. In Thief you were Garrett and he was a cool dude. I have no desire to step into the shoes of a female secret agent with a robotic poodle and exploding sequined broach. What gives?

Good one jm0ris0n. Good luck on your test buddy. I wish prices were like that up here (Canada). Im paying about $64.99-69.99 for a new PC game and bout $79.99 for an XBOX Game. Of course thats not really a problem for me considering I drive a ferrari (but live in a shitty house with 2 roomates lol) but all my friends complain about the prices.

Well today I had to get off campus, so I drove to EB and put 5 bucks down on NOLF2 and canceled my amazon order. It turns out October 3rd (wednesday) I have a test @2PM (my last class that day) so as a reward for finishing it I'm gonna drive to EB and pick up the game :).

Also EB will pricematch say your local bestbuy if they advertise the title for 34.99 within 4 weeks of the purchase date I'd also like to add some input on picking up pc games the day of their release @bestbuy...DONT DO IT BB is very iffy on when their shipments arrive.

Better late than...er...never :), http://www.gamestop.com/ is not offering free two-day shipping on NOLF 2 for the PC.

Edit: You have to love competition! EBG has updated its daily deal to offer free two-day shipping on NOLF 2...er...too.
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=218388

With the deal, EBG will discount the one-day shipping total by the two-day amount, usually only costing $2 or so. I presume that Gamestop does the same thing, but I could not state that as fact.

Noting that there are just over twenty-one hours left for the deal,
Ray

Next Time you go to EB and try to get a copy of a game and they say, "sorry man were all out, except pre-ordered copies" I'll be there picking up the game and watching you drive all the way to Best Buy and hoping they have it. It happend to me many times, so I thought, why dont I pre-order too? What a concept. Even put 5 bucks down instead of full price so you know you have a copy. Saves gas money from driving around all the time, not that I have to worry about that.

shipping? I just drive to the store and get it. Electronic Boutique and I have come to a few assumptions:
1. I always pre-order a game and pay full price.
2. A guy named Chris is always on shift when Im there and sometimes gets me a discount
3. I buy pizza on wednesday for the crew
4. Their delivery boy delivers the games on release date at 1:00PM
5. I'm there at 1:05PM
6. The parking meter lady comes by at 1:28PM and tickets my car (not only is it an attractive red ferrari, I always forget to put change in the meter)

Its true that I dont have a life, except when Im out at night looking for a place to find guys willing to drag race. CIAO

Two-day shipping? <shaking head> You sold out, man!

Ahhh, here is to hoping it does ship out on that day and I still think you will have the game, at the latest, on Friday.

Usually losing that battle :o,

Well all...I am truly a sad man. I was at amazon and was looking around a bit (a bad thing to do when you want to buy something) and I said "F^*k it" I'm using my $5 off coupon. Once I finally got things squared away (diff cc# and shipping addy) I was comparing my shipping options. I immediately selected 1-day air and after the coupon the total came to 54.97. I double checked their shipping policies...etc and came to a few observations:

1. NOLF 2 is in 17th place in amazon.com sales rank

2.With "standard, free" shipping the expected ship date was listed as october 7. When I moved the shipping options down to 1-day it said the item would ship on the first. This has lead me to believe the game has a pretty high chance of shipping out on the first.

Now to the part that makes me mildly ashamed to post on bluesnews. I was all gung-ho on my next-day shipping, but something inside of me made me click the "2-day air" radio button just to see what effect it would have on the total price. With 2-day air the price dropped from 54.97 to a "low" 48.97! I thought holy Sh!t! thats six bucks just to wait a day...In fact 48.97 ain't that bad of a price to pay for a game shipped to begin with...so my point in all this is I ended up giving in to the voice of reason and the fear of college loans. I have now pre-ordered NOLF2 for 48.97 w/ *sniff* 2-day shipping. But hey, at least the game is pre-ordered

BTW I do intend to contact amazon and get more reassurance the game WILL ship on or before the 1st of october.

Well, take everything with a grain of salt. Regardless of the company, they can (and will) screw up from time to time. Unlike C&B, which a lot of people do like, I do not have any real problems with Amazon. I were merely talking about your need/want to have it exactly one day after the "official" ship day and my own experiences with Amazon getting in the first shipments a little later than other places and/or taking an extra day or so to ship out.

Basically, I would not expect you to have the game until 10/03 or 10/04. However, unless you absolutely must have it on the second (trust me, I more than understand the craving :o), you might just want to go ahead and order it from Amazon. With your $5 coupon, you will only be paying $54.97, close to what you would pay with taxes if you purchased it locally, and you would save all the time and effort of driving.

Wishing http://www.gamestop.com/ and http://www.gamespot.com/ weren't so similar,
Ray

Edit: Time estimate.

The $60 prices were with next-day shipping. Speaking from experience, when I've ordered from Amazon, even with ground shipping, I get my order in 2 days. I guess I'm close to a shipping hub or something. Often times I'll preorder a CD there and I'll get a shipping email the day before the CD is supposed to come out. It may be the same with games.

Mu, no one is freaking forcing you to buy or steal the game. Games are a LUXURY, meaning they are a priviledge not a right. I am also a financially stressed college student and it's really not that hard to save up $40 for a bunch of fun. Don't try to play yourself off as the victim of society.

Thanks for the heads up Ray. I was hoping I could amazon it next-day as I have a $5 off coupon and I wouldn't have to pay salestax, but unfortunately with gamestop and EBworld I do (I'm in texas) . I might just make the drive down to EB (35 miles according to their map) and pre-order the game. Then I can be sure to get it on the second of october. And make the drive after class is finished on the second and stay up late playing cate archer goodness .

MU, you are really pathetic. I myself am a college student and if I can afford to support kickass game developers so can you
