The first NOLF had great single play and very creative multiplayer. The amount of weapons and varried ammo types was great. The instant I saw the poison and fire arrows for the crossbow in the demo, I realized multiplay was going to be getting real fun again.

Already have BF1942, going to get UT2k and NOLF2. What a season for FPS fans.

Heh, ok the water doesn't look too bad. I run everything at 800x600 32-bit color and got an xp1800, 512mb ram, and gf4 ti4200.

About those doors mate, I don't play those games you mentioned. SOFII was really bad here a door, there a door, everywhere a damn non opening door door (LOL). GTA3 was even worse, that huge city and you could go into like 2 buildings. Sheesh. I'm really glad that I take the time to download these demos (by 5.6k modem) before commiting hard cash to something.

Anyways, plz forgive me I meant no offense. I'm just a fussy old gamer heheheh =P

yup, there are better gfx out there... but NOLF2 aint a dog by any means besides, its gameplay seems fantastic - a good combination in my book

I don't have a lot of time for Monolith, but I quite liked this and was sorry when it ended. A must buy for me.
Graphically, it's a quantum leap over the original NOLF. In some aspects the graphics are just top notch, period, but there's better out there.
Mouse sensitivity is a pain in the ass with this and the problem is intermittant, making it all the more annoying when having to switch weapons and hoping you get what you're after! Sound skips occasionally, too. Mouse problem isn't evident in KPC, so I'm not thinking it's the engine. Don't know, I'll just live in hope I'm not the only one finding it a pain and maybe they'll fix it:)

well having played through the demo I gotta say I'm really impressed and can't wait to play the full thing. The sub level is excellent and siberia is the dogs_bollocks I like it alot !

#59 - gotta disagree with you on the gfx, have you not seen the water !?! what res are you playing at ? And as to your comment about doors - have you not played SoF2 / Elite Forces ?? Its a common issue in games - lots of games like that... besides how can you feel like a mouse inna maze that's what the compass is there for ?

Personally I wasn't impressed. At first the graphics looked quite good but then became very bland. There's way too many doors and buildings that can't be entered which leaves me feeling like I'm just a mouse hunting for some cheese in a maze =(

I really couldn't like this game. I played it right through but just found it cumbersome.

I'm probably going to make a bunch of you out there feel better about your computers, because I'm running a pIII 500 with a geforce2. Yes, I am planning on upgrading before I am gray and wizened- namely for the resurrection of DOOM.
I don't want to upgrade now and then find out that my new hypothetical system isn't fast enough to run that well. That would stink. If you are wondering what even runs on a system like this, I am having a ball getting better at warcraftIII. If at all possible, I am thinking of trying to get a new computer 5 times as fast as my current one. That would suffice.

Instead of spending time asking questions, mow a lawn or 2 for $30 for a videocard that will run the game. Check www.pricewatch.com for prices. For $30 you could be playing the game, and not making a fool of yourself.

PS What you have is not a "rig", what you have is a paperweight.

30 dollars, thats all, come on!!!!

OK, so the teaser worked great(ish), but now the demo refuses to start. I'm running a TNT2Ultra (I know... I know) and could actually run the teaser fine (on low detail, natch). All drivers are updated, dx is fine, and nothing has changed on my system since the teaser came out. Anyone have any clue what I can do / what's wrong? I'm stumped. I know the card has no transform and lighting support, but if that was an issue why did the teaser work?

PS my "rig" is somewhat comparable to the minimum requirements in most cases, but if it was a requirements issue, I again ask why did the teaser work?

I originally got NOLF as part of a package when I bought my MSI Gef4, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought it would.
After the demo of NOLF2, I can say I'm really looking forward to it. It has some of the best humour I've ever seen in a game, without being over the top.
The repartee between the HARM agents (eg: the guys talking about the new HR girl and her motivational programs; "'We're good at being bad, and bad at being good' I mean, what the hell is that?") and the notes (eg: The HARM Mission Statement, heh).
Witty and charmimg, indeed.
The environments were beautiful a well. The underwater base was just gorgeous.
The action and gameplay is nicely balanced as well.
This is a must buy!

Considering the slow acceptance of the original NOLF I'm surprised at their timing on the release of this demo in the shadow of the UT2K3 demo. I probably would have waited at least a couple of weeks if not a month!
P.S. Try shooting the Myna bird for a laugh.

I've got the same box (PIII800,Geforce2) I had when the original came out and I'm shocked how well this game runs on it (you may be right Ray, this game may be smoother). I have to be pulling at least 20-30 fps (certainly playable) on max detail and 32 bit although I will probably tone it down for a smoother rate when I get the game. If you've got a Geforce 3 or 4 and 1.5 ghz and up than your machine has too be just cranking out the frames when playing this game. You could probably run this game on a high end PII. Kudos to the Lith development team. Oh, did I mention how nice this game looks.

I get no voices either. I have Hercules Game Theater XP, I don't have NIMO codec installed and I have no voices. I see the lips moving during the cutscenes but I don't hear them talking. All the other voices are there, it seems. Looks nice from what little I played so far.
