A report on GameSpot (thanks Pie4Foo) has word that Battlefield 1942, Digital Illusions' game of World War II combat, is expected in U.S. stores on Friday. In advance of the game actually arriving on shelves, a patch for the game is now available to update the game to version 1.1 adding support for The All-Seeing Eye server browser, higher refresh rates, internal server browser improvements, bug fixes, and more. The patch is available on 3D Gamers on the same page with the new version 1.1 Win32 dedicated server, and FilePlanet (registration required) has the patch and the standalone server on separate pages, as does the FileShack (registration required), where the patch is here and the server is here.
