just thought id point out that there is no "strategy" in chess. the strategic method of warfare started during the early 20th century, with the advent of airplanes. before then, all combat was tactical, meaning conflicts were decided with the forces present at the battlefield. with the advent of air travel, it became possible to attack the enemies lines of supply, effectively rendering them unable to fight. this is strategic warfare. chess has no resources per se. theres no way to supply yourself with more pawns if you lose them all. chess is the ultimate game of tactical combat.
the reason these games are referred to as real time strategy is that supplying your forces is almost as important as the methods you use to destroy your opponent.
