i'm sure something like this has been said before, but i'm too lazy to go through all those whines and gripes about the game so i'll just say it again. i just played through half life for the first time on my new fancy money-devouring machine. without the hidef pack. it may have been a tad painful on the eyes, but i still had one of the best times i've ever had on my pc. what im saying is, if the game plays well, who gives a crap if the graphics are less than absolutely perfect? considering that even 'attack of the clones', even with all its months and hundreds of programmers looked completely fake 99% of the time, why are you complaining that a computer game doesn't look like what you see in your waking life? plus, i think it looks rather nice compared to doom2.

I just found a link on Amazon that claims it is taking pre-orders for Doom III to be shipped July 31, 2003.

Holy $hit, I cant believe I just read that. A player who knows nothing about first person shooters based on the fact that you said Halo. An over rated game that was cool until you finished with the Warthog launching. 1: First person shooters on game pads are gay. 2: Halo 2 is not going to have near the graphic quality of Doom 3 purely because the video card in the XBox is far from grand. 3: Based on your opinions listed above, you are playing Halo, and you are a victim of your own words; you friendless POS. 4: You wasted 199.99 on a big black PAPER WEIGHT of a system with NO GAME SELECTION. Further more, take your whining (most likly based on a "I have a P166 with a Voodoo1 Accelerator so I cant play Doom III" argument) and play your countless hours of Warthog launching with your 2 closest 13 y/o friends to someone (not us) who cares.

The Game has the most amazing graphics of all time on PC. But setting aside that statement and the fact that you need a High End video card to play it, I had an opertunity to try the pre-release version of D3 and I was not Impressed. Although it had amazing Real-Time Lighting and textures with true bump-mapping, It seemed to 'Fake' and 'Mechanical'. Personally I dont really care what a game looks like, Its the motion and Detail that captivates me. In the time I played D3, alls I did was shoot a couple zombies and study the enviornment. It didn't captivate me at all. I understand this is a pre-release but I hope they do better in the retail because I was not Impressed at all.

You're confused. You imply that Doom III is not perfect, which is, of course, irrelevant and quite possibly unattainable except as a continuous pursuit of improvement. The fact of the matter is, that Doom III is best. Being best is all that matters until someone else does something better.
