This is the best game I have played on pc since halflife but I guess some people are too shallow to see the depth.

If you people had bothered to do your homework you would know that the console version of this game is just as bad in the control and camera angle department as the PC version.

From what I saw of the original, the gameplay sucks as hard as the controls. Think painfully linear. Think jumping puzzles -- LOTS of jumping puzzles. This game has very nice Batman trappings but when you play it you realize it has nothing to do with Batman. Why can Batman only use his bat-grapple in a few select places and then only if he aims it exactly on a blinking target? Why is Batman always doing stupid shit like falling off buildings to his death? These things are not an issue for Batman in the comics or the TV show that the game is based on, so why are they in the game?

To the people who say "crummy control is par for the course with console ports" I suggest you take the PC ports of GTA3 or Metal Gear Solid for a spin.

I finished the demo, mostly because I felt I justify for the 112 Meg download. But heed my words, no one should submit themselves to this torture; The camera is Spider-Man Movie awful, most controls are unmappable for no reason, so you'll find yourself shifting between keyb/mouse/joystick There's simply no way anyone who handled the port actually bothered to PLAY the demo they created.

Oh come on -- it's no great game, but the controls and camera are what one expects from a console port. At least we can be happy that batman (and comic characters in general) games are getting better. Sure, I'm prejudiced because I love Batman way more than an 18 year old should, but imagine the great daredevil, punisher, or batman games that could come out in this' footsteps...

Worse than Spider-Man indeed. I actually like this cartoon series.

you don't need to 'pass' the training level, you can start any of the 3 game missions from the menu. not that the controls will allow you to complete those either, mind.

Bad doesn't even begin to describe it. Hell, I'm a veteran of both FPS's and TPA's, and I can't even get past the damn "training level". They want you to sneak past a "sensor post", but it's not possible.

So its not worth downloading then?

Controls are actually WORSE than Spider-Man. The game's central combat challenge is you wrestling with the input scheme.

Almost every console port has a horrible control scheme and nasty camera problems. It's just a fact of life.

This game might almost be good if they do some serious work on the controls. I found myself always fighting the camera angles, trying to will the camera to rotate. Also not having the ability to use the mouse at all is a major downfall. The graphics are dead on the anime series, and thats a very good thing. They also have the voice actors lending their voice so it comes off very well for any fan of the anime series.

If the designers ever see this thread: please, for the love of your paycheck, fix these controls and release another demo. As it is this demo is going to do more harm than good. You have a lot of good things going it would be a pity for them to be wasted because of the horrible controls.
